Nicole N. Lenar was born and raised in New Jersey and has resided locally her entire life.  Ms. Lenar graduated from West Morris Central High School, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Rutgers the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers College and received her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

While at Rutgers, Ms. Lenar was an advocate for individuals living with HIV/AIDS and individuals that were mentally incapacitated.  Ms. Lenar actively participated in clinics to assist these individuals with the coping mechanisms necessary to overcome the stigma of these illnesses and to assist these individuals with their transition to what is considered “normal” in our society.

While at Quinnipiac, Ms. Lenar interned at the State Attorney’s Office; focusing on Drug crimes and Sexual Abuse crimes.  Additionally, Ms. Lenar actively participated in the Health Law Program and assisted with the review, preparation and analysis of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) for compliance with the laws in the State of Connecticut.  Further, Ms. Lenar held a fellowship position at Legal Services of North West Jersey, where she assisted indigent persons in matrimonial, landlord/ tenant, small claims and commitment hearings.

Ms. Lenar is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the District of Columbia and the State of Florida.  Prior to opening her office in 2005, Ms. Lenar served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable John H. Pursel, J.S.C., Criminal Division, County of Warren, State of New Jersey. As Judicial Law Clerk, she assisted with research, preparation of legal memorandum and decisions for Criminal, Municipal Appeals, Civil and Probate matters.

Ms. Lenar’s legal services are extensive and include, but are not limited to: Family, Estate Planning, Civil, Real Estate, Personal Injury, Workmans Comp. and Commitment Hearings.  Ms. Lenar appears regularly in Courts throughout the State of New Jersey.  Ms. Lenar has lectured on various legal issues and taught paralegal classes at Warren County Community College.  Additionally, Ms. Lenar is the first female Municipal Court Judge in Warren County.  Ms. Lenar presides over the Town of Belvidere, Liberty Township, Harmony Township and the Town of Hackettstown.  These Courts have jurisdiction over traffic offenses, local ordinances, weights and measures, fish and game and petty/ petty disorderly persons offenses.

Ms. Lenar is an active member of the Warren County Bar Association and was the Warren County Bar Association President from 2013-2014.  She is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Florida Bar Association and District of Columbia Bar Association.  Ms. Lenar is also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and an active volunteer with the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife.  Ms. Lenar is a former member of Mountain Lake Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary and the Warren County Chamber of Commerce.

The Court routinely appoints Ms. Lenar as guardian for alleged incapacitated persons and the Attorney of Record for Pro Bono matters.  Ms. Lenar has previously served as a Pool Attorney for the Office of the Public Defender.

I have been private practice, having my office located in Sparta, New Jersey for the last 20 years.   I have 40+ years experience, specializing in real estate matters, new construction real estate closings, personal injury cases and Last Wills and Testaments, new business and commercial transactions.

 My staff and I enjoy a great working relationship with realtors  and work closely with clients guiding them through the Contract review, attorney review process, and any home inspection report issues that may arise, mortgage and title closings. 
I reside in Sparta, with my wife Diane, where we have raised our  two (2) sons, Michael  and Christopher.  I am a member of the UNICO Organization, Lakeland Bank Advisory Board, Pass it Along Executive Board and , Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Ethics Committee.

 I grew up in Parsippany, New Jersey and graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.A. in English Literature in 1973.  I attended the University of Dayton, School of Law and graduated with my Juris Doctorate in 1978.  I was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey and the Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey in December 1978.

I have long tried to answer the call to serve.  I enlisted in the U.S.  Navy in my teens after a few years service, I earned the opportunity to attend Villanova University on an N.R.O.T.C. scholarship.  After earning my degree in Business Administration I was commissioned an Ensign in the Navy.  I served on a surface combat ship in the Atlantic Ocean until my separation.   Upon leaving Naval service I attended law school graduating with honors.  After a year clerking in the Superior Court in Hudson County I moved to Sussex County in private practice and have been here ever since.  

While living and raising a family here I continued to serve in various volunteer positions in youth sports, charitable organizations, business development activities and higher education.  I also have volunteered my time to serve on District X Ethics Committee as well as the District Fee Arbitration Committee.
